Hello! This is October CMS!

A company proving that making websites is not rocket science.

Rooted in the wild

We are a small team of naturalists, writers, and volunteers with a shared belief that people protect what they have learned to love. For over a decade we have worked to bring wild places closer to everyday life, restoring habitats, running field surveys, and telling the stories of the plants and animals that share our landscapes. From replanting native woodland to counting returning swifts each spring, our work is guided by patience, curiosity, and a deep respect for the natural world.

Why it matters

Wild places are disappearing quietly, one hedgerow and one wetland at a time. But nature is remarkably willing to return when given the chance. Protect a stretch of river, leave a meadow uncut, plant a stand of native trees, and within a few seasons the birds, insects, and wildflowers come flooding back. Our projects are built on that simple, hopeful truth, and on the volunteers who give their weekends to make it happen.

  • Restoring native woodland and meadow
  • Protecting rivers and wetlands
  • Bringing pollinators back to gardens
